Maya Bilman

Maya Bilman

My name is Maya Bilman and I study communication design in Bezalel, Academy
for art and design in Jerusalem. Ever since I was young I was always
painting, drawing and making things. My hands had to be busy at all times.
The act of creating, which was always a sort of instinct for me, is now in
the process of evolving from a hobby to a profession. I’m in my
6th semester and still searching for my own path in the world of design
and illustration. I really enjoy the learning process and feel that studying
design has opened both my eyes and my mind to the visual world that
surrounds us. I think that the school provides me with a secluded
environment fully dedicated to creation, and so, I try to give myself as
much freedom and allow myself to experiment and explore as much as I can
during this time.

Born and raised in the south of Israel. Studies in the Visual Communications Department of Bezalel academy of art and design, Jerusalem. Looking after shapes and forms. Enjoys collecting interesting looking objects while wondering the streets. Fascinated from hebrew typography and its complex geometric appearance, the well structured latin geometric forms and the fluidness of the arabic letters. Curious about the connection between type-design, graphic-design and illustration – and trying, during his studies – to find out how he could
mix those three together.

I am a student in the Visual Communication Department in Bezalel Academy for Art and Design, Jerusalem. I am also living in Jerusalem, in the Mahane Yehuda market area. I was born in Tel Aviv, so I basically grew up on Israeli design and illustration and illustrators, such as Rutu Modan and Dudu Geva. So I always knew I will study illustraton, and Bezlael was my number one target. That’s also the reason I applied for the studies in HAW – A knowen school for illustration. Germany in general is a country with a rich history of art and design, which are also dominant in current time.
I am very excited to experience and learn a lot from my time in Hamburg.

Tsach Weinberg

Tsach Weinberg

My name is Tsach Weinberg. I’m 24 years old. I was born in Jerusalem, Israel, and grew up in a small village called Meitar. Since I was a child, I had an urge to create. I was fascinated by technology and science but also by visual arts and fiction. These led me to what I’m doing today. I find illustration a very powerful tool for bringing to life any invention or idea I have on mind. I like works of art which have a story behind them and keep it as a rule while working on my own illustrations.
The pages I decided to show here are taken from an imaginative guide I created. The main theme is how the modern world has been digitized and depends on electronics. The parasites described in the guide are part of a new form of life, evolved on data cables and power plugs.
